Independence High School

Recently in Jamie’s art class our students have been working on watercoloring. Watercolor can be very difficult to master because of the transparency and the water soluble paint that students are working with.

But having Jamie as your art teacher, students know that nothing is impossible! Jamie teaches students that they can create even if they don’t think they have the skills. She tells her students that ” art is the essence of patience.” And they know that they can keep trying!

Learning the basics will helps students as they move on in art and learn to be patient with the process. These skills will help them in the future with bigger art projects that they work on in Jamie’s class.

And who doesn’t need to learn a little more patience in life, and art seems like a great way to learn a little more of it!
