Independence High School

We would love to give a big Independence welcome to our new principal Chris Sorensen. Mr. Sorensen will replace Lani Quinsenberry who has taken a position outside the state to be closer to family.

Mr. Sorensen joins Independence with extensive leadership experience. Mr. Sorensen served as Nebo School District Superintendent from 2004-2010. He has also taught grades 2nd-7th, served as a high school vice principal, an elementary school principal several times, the Director of Elementary Education in Nebo and many other distinguished positions. Mr. Sorensen is also well-respected leader of his community. He has served as a Springville City Council Member, Utah County Board of Health Member and Springville Library Board member.

Mr. Sorensen is a Utah native, graduating from Springville High School. He then stayed close to home attending Brigham Young University. He is a father of three and a proud grandfather of eight. He is so excited to be here and we are thrilled to have him at Independence.
