Independence High School

At Independence High School we have school values. Our values are perseverance, respect, integrity, decision-making skills and excellence. We learn about these values during advisory and practice them at home, school and with friends. A few weeks ago we had the opportunity for some BYU Engineering students to teach during advisory and their lesson was on integrity. In Brandon’s class the kids had to wear a blindfold and stack up cups as fast as they could along with a BYU student, but the BYU student cheated and took off the blindfold when no one was looking and then put it back on. The kids were shocked that this BYU student could stack so many cups with a blind fold on. They discussed what integrity was and why it is important to have it. It was a great lesson and the students really enjoyed having BYU here!
