Student Jay Perez is in David Sterlings Comp TIA A+ class here at IHS. This class teaches students everything they need to know to be the entry “IT person”. After they take this class they can take a test to become certified and get a job in IT.

After learning all the skills necessary to build a computer, Jay went looking for a buyer. Once they had a buyer they asked for the buyers wants and needs in a computer. This computer would not be your generic computer. Every piece is custom to the buyers needs. It has an i7 core processor and was designed with video editing in mind. It also has high end memory and was built for converting VHS to DVD or MP4 format.

It took Jay about 3 weeks to build it in class. Now that she has the skills she could probably complete this task in 2-3 hours. The students in this class have also learned skills such as setting up networks, fixing printers and building computers.

We are so proud of Jay for taking advantage of this opportunity. She has learned a new skill that could turn into a future career.
