In Janette’s 11 grade English class her students finished reading the novel Tears of a Tiger by Sharon Draper last week.  Yesterday she had them do a memory writing assignment where they followed the pattern of writing used on one of the pages of the book.  The main character writes about a whole list of memories he has of his best friend. Her students had to choose a person, place, or event from their life, and write memories about that person/place/event following the same format. Her students loved this assignment reminiscing  and sharing their memories with classmates.
