Dear Independence Family,

I wanted to send a letter out to all our students and parents to let you know that we miss you!  We hope each of you and your families are healthy and navigating this unique situation with hope.  We are thinking of you.

There has been lots of talk and emails regarding school status.  I want to answer some questions and give encouragement for the upcoming weeks. First of all, we are still working on online/packet instruction.  PLEASE, PLEASE encourage your students to get on and work with their teachers; if they are confused, don’t know what to do, or feel lost, have them contact the school office 801-274-4920 or their teachers.  We will help them get started and get caught up J.

37 students passed all of their classes for hex 5, CONGRATULATIONS!  Those students were able to choose one of many amazing prizes for their hard work. We will continue the incentive for hex 6, which goes through May 21; this means that any student who passes all of their classes for hex 6 will get to choose an awesome prize or gift card. So, get online and work hard!

Many of you may be wondering how to drop off library books, JROTC uniforms, get personal items from lockers, and other end-of-year questions.  We are coming up with protocols and solutions to take care of these things so please stay tuned.  Most likely there will be a day to drop off and pick up items for each grade level, but we will let you know.  Summer school information will also being coming out soon.  We hope all students will participate and take advantage of this opportunity to recover credit, especially after hex 5 and 6 were slightly disrupted.

Amados Familias de Independence,

Quería mandar una carta a todos nuestros estudiantes y padres para dejarles saber que les extrañamos!  Esperamos que cada uno de ustedes y sus familias están navegando esta situación única con esperanza.  Estamos pensando en ustedes.

Ha habido mucha discusión y correos electrónicos en cuanto al estado de la escuela.  Quiero contestar algunas preguntas y dar ánimo para las semanas que vienen.  Primeramente, todavía estamos dando instrucción en línea y por medio de paquetes.  POR FAVOR, POR FAVOR animen a sus estudiantes a hacer sus trabajos y trabajar con sus maestros, si están confundidos, no saben qué hacer, o se sienten perdidos, háganles contactar la oficina de la escuela 801-374-4920 o a sus maestros.  Les ayudaremos a empezar y recuperar lo que han faltado.

37 estudiantes aprobaron a todas sus clases por el término 5, ¡FELICIDADES!  Esos estudiantes pudieron escoger un premio de los muchos maravillosos premios que tenemos por haber trabajado duro.  Continuaremos con los incentivos para el término 6, lo cual termina el día 21 de mayo; eso significa que cualquier estudiante que aprueba todas sus clases por el término 6 podrá escoger un premio genial o tarjeta regalo.  !Así que, pónganse en línea y trabajen duros!

Es posible que muchos de ustedes quieren saber cómo entregar libros a la biblioteca, uniformes de JROTC, obtener artículos personales de casilleros/taquillas, y otras preguntas para terminar el año escolar.  Estamos creando los protocolos y soluciones para resolver estas cosas así que por favor manténganse la atención.  Es probable que habrá un día para entregar y buscar artículos para cada grado, pero les haremos saber.  Habrá información en cuanto a escuela de verano muy pronto.  Esperamos que todos los estudiantes participen y que aprovechen de la oportunidad de recuperar créditos, especialmente después de que los términos 5 y 6 fueron un poco interrumpidos.
