Major Sargent Smith is very excited to be a part of our great team at Independence High School. He recently retired from 27 years of active duty military service. His lives with his family in Payson, where him and his wife just celebrated their 20 year wedding anniversary. Together they have four children where they spend the majority of their free time supporting them in sports and school activities. He loves participating in pretty much anything outdoors to include hunting, fishing, camping, backpacking, and love football and wrestling. Major Sargent Smith has a Bachelors of Science in Multi-Disciplinary studies from Grantham University and has previously been working on a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership. We are so excited to have him at our school and get to know him even more!
