Independence High School

Dear Parents and Students:           8/1/2024

Welcome to another school year! We are excited to see students in classes again. We have some GREAT things planned for this year.  Please plan on attending Mandatory registration for all students and their parents/guardians on August 8th or August 9th anytime between 9am-3pm.  We will also be passing out student chromebooks during the registration process.

Feel free to complete the following online before coming in:

  1. A parent/guardian must access the parent portal at grades.provo.edu and update their students’
    Powerschool demographic information.
  2. If the parent/guardian home address is not in Provo, a School Choice Open Enrollment Application
will need to be filled out and approved.
  3. School fees will need to be paid at the time of registration. Registration fees for the school year
are $100.00. If you qualify for Fee waivers you will need to submit an application (included) with the last two pay stubs or last year income tax returns.
  4. Each student must register every year, even if they attended Independence High School last year.

Students, if you have friends who want to attend Independence that are enrolled at Provo or Timpview High School, they will need to fill out an Independence High School application with their counselor.

Registration: Thursday and Friday, August 8th and 9th

Any time between 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

First Day of School: Tuesday, August 13th

Monday – Thursday: 8:25 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Friday: 8:25 a.m. – 1:40 p.m.

If you and/or your students are unable to attend the times scheduled above, please call the office to schedule another time.  Students will not be allowed to receive their class schedule or chromebook until the registration process is completed.

Please join us for the Back to School Night on Monday, August 12th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
